‘Oprah’ Reveals Washington, D.C. Show Plans

The Oprah Winfrey Show” is traveling to Washington, D.C. for the historic inauguration of President-Elect Obama and Vice President-Elect Biden. In a two-day special event, the show will bring viewers a front row seat to the hottest ticket in “Oprah” show history and a celebration to remember.
First, on Monday, January 19, the “Oprah” show will broadcast from the world- famous Kennedy Center Opera House for a blowout celebration, with special celebrity guests and an exclusive, one-time-only music performance in front of a star-studded audience. Stars Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher will stop by, and stars including Scarlett Johansson and more will share special messages about what this inauguration means to them. Music superstars Bono, Will.i.am, Faith Hill, Seal, David Foster and queen of hip-hop soul Mary J. Blige will participate in an unforgettable musical performance of a brand- new song created in collaboration with Will.i.am and David Foster to mark this historic occasion on the “Oprah” show.
Then, on Wednesday, January 21, the “Oprah” show goes live from chef Art Smith’s “Art and Soul” restaurant in Washington, D.C. Oprah will be joined by guests including Academy Award®-winner Forest Whitaker and Grammy Award-winning musician and songwriter Jon Bon Jovi to reflect on the inauguration. Gayle King will give her take on the festivities and guest correspondent Ali Wentworth will hit the D.C. streets for even more reaction.
Plus, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin will share her thoughts and insights on the momentous day.
